One person taken to hospital following Co Fermanagh crash

One person has been taken to hospital following a serious collision in Co Fermanagh.

The crash, involving a bike and a Jeep, happened in the Tattygare Road area outside the village of Lisbellaw on Tuesday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it responded to a call shortly after 5.30pm.

An emergency crew was sent to the scene alongside the Charity Air Ambulance.

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by Air Ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast,” they said.

A PSNI spokesperson said on Tuesday evening: “Closures are in place at the Tattygare Road and Topped Mountain Road junctions. Please seek an alternative route for your journey.”

Fermanagh and Omagh UUP councilor Robert Irvine, who lives in Lisbellaw, said: “This is very worrying news and as we await further details, my thoughts are with all those involved in the crash.
