Part of A2 road reopens following serious crash

Part of the main road between Belfast and Bangor has reopened following a serious crash in Co Down.

The collision happened on the A2 Bangor Road in the Cultra area on Monday afternoon.

A PSNI spokesperson said the crash happened close to the Balygrainey Road junction.

The A2 has been closed in both directions following a serious traffic collision. Please find another route if you’re travelling between Bangor and Holywood today. Really hope everyone involved is okay. 🙏🏻

Part of the road was closed between the Culloden area and the Devil’s Elbow, with motorists urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

The stretch of road reopened on Monday evening.
