Well-known singers from the north west of Ireland have come together to record a new song dedicated to the children of Palestine.
The Flowers of Palestine features Dungiven singer Nodlaig Ní Bhrollaigh, who composed the piece, and Joleen McLaughlin of Inishowen group The Henry Girls.

The duo are joined on the recording by harpers from Derry’s Scoil Ruaidhrí Dall, prominent Irish harpers Lauren O’Neill, Gráinne Meyer, and Lucia McGinnis, cellist Paul Gillespie from Letterkenny, and fiddler Martin O’Kane.
The Flowers of Palestine was recorded live at Dungiven Castle and features young Dungiven harper Bláithín Nic Nia whose name means ‘little flower’.
Speaking to The Irish News, Nodlaig Ní Bhrollaigh said: “There is a fundamental truth and that is the innocence of children.
“Over the last eight months, more than 15,000 children have been killed and many more have been orphaned and seriously injured.
“We have been witnessing the collective punishment of children and they desperately need an immediate and permanent ceasefire.”
“The funds raised by the project will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians. The musicians and the creative team gave of their time and talent voluntarily. We want to do what we can to end the genocide. I also believe we have a duty of hope and that we must keep hope alive for the Palestinian people.”
The Flowers of Palestine will be available to download on streaming platforms: Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
