Man released on bail following arrest over Banbridge shooting

Police have sealed off the area around a taxi at with a shot out passenger side windown in a public car park at Rathfrailand Road in Banbridge following the shooting of a man on Friday night.
The man is in a serious condition in hospital and a man has been arrested after a car was found burning about five miles away.
Police are appealing for witnesses.

A man arrested by police investigating a shooting in Banbridge has been released on bail to allow for further enquiries.

The 46-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting of a man in his 40s at a car park in the Rathfriland Road area of Banbridge on Friday evening.

The victim remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Detectives would encourage anyone with information or who witnessed what happened, to make contact with police on 101, quoting reference number 1683 12/04/24.”
