Police investigating loyalist criminality have charged a 34-year-old man following the seizure of suspected cocaine worth an estimated £80,000.

The suspected Class A drug haul was recovered during the search of a property in the Dundonald area of east Belfast by officers from the multi-agency Paramilitary Crime Task Force last July.

The man is charged with offences including attempting to import a Class A controlled drug, being concerned in the supply of Class A, B and C controlled drugs, possession of Class A and B controlled drugs, cultivating cannabis and transferring criminal property.

He is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on February 22, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
