Man and woman charged in connection with west Belfast robbery

A man and a woman have been charged by police investigating an armed robbery in west Belfast.

Police received a report of the robbery shortly after 8.30pm on Monday at a shop in the Springfield Road area, and made two arrests a short time later.

A 32-year-old man was later charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of assault on police, and resisting police.

A 24-year-old woman has been charged with robbery, two counts of assault on police, and resisting police.



Both are due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, and all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
