A yellow weather warning for heavy rain has been issued for parts of the north.

The Met Office warning is in place from 10pm on Monday until 6am on Tuesday, for parts of Co Down and Co Armagh.

The rain could mean “flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible”, the Met Office has said.

It warned that flooding on roads could make journey times longer.

A Met Office spokesperson said: “The rain will be heavy at times with accumulations of 25-30 mm expected quite widely and 40 mm falling in places, perhaps particularly near the coast and across the Mournes.”
