Five released following arrest over east Belfast assault

Five people arrested by police investigating an assault in which a man was left with serious facial injuries have been released.

The four males aged 55, 43, 40 and 40, and a 38-year-old woman were detained by police after a report of an assault at a property in the Upper Frank Street area of east Belfast on Monday evening.



A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital following the incident for treatment to facial injuries described as serious.

The five were released on bail on Tuesday, and a PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
