A bomb squad team is at the scene of a security alert in Co Antrim today.

Police have released few details of the ongoing alert in the Ballyclare area. However, images from the scene show two ATO lorries at the scene of the alert. People are being warned to avoid the area.

In a brief statement, the PSNI said: “Police are at the scene of a security alert in the Ballylagan Road area of Ballyclare following the discovery of a suspicious object.“Road users and members of the public are advised to avoid the area at this time. An update will be provided in due course.”
