Man arrested after 720,000 euros of cannabis seized at Dublin Airport

A man has been arrested after suspected cannabis worth an estimated 720,000 million euros was seized at Dublin Airport.

The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on Saturday afternoon following the seizure.

Gardai said about 36kg of herbal cannabis was discovered when revenue officers searched the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight.



They said: “The man (aged 20s) was arrested and detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in Dublin.

“He has since been charged and is due to appear before the CCJ Dublin tomorrow morning, Monday March 4.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
