Co Longford woman dies after stabbing at New York bar

A Co Longford woman has died after being stabbed at an Irish pub in New York.

The 41-year-old victim, who has been identified as Sarah McNally from Longford town, died following the incident at the Ceili House bar on Grand Avenue in the Queens area of the city.

It is understood she was working at the bar when the incident happened shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday.

Police said the victim had stab wounds to her neck, while another male had stab wounds to his neck and back.

Both were taken to hospital in a critical condition, but Ms McNally was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The male remains in a critical condition.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the incident, and an NYPD spokesperson said an investigation is “ongoing”.
