4 Covid-19 deaths, 1,019 new cases

Four more people have died after testing positive for Covid-19 and 1,019 people have been diagnosed with the disease.

The highest number of new cases continue to be found among the 10 to 14 age group (19%).

The infection rate is 470.4 and the council area with the highest rate is Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (578.6) while Derry City and Strabane has the lowest infection rate (343.1).

There are 33 people with Covid-19 in ICU, of whom 24 are being ventilated, and overall there are 329 in-patients with Covid-19.

There are more patients than beds in hospitals across the north with 258 people awaiting admission.

There are outbreaks in 50 care homes.

The death toll stands at 2,665 and one of the four deaths reported today occurred outside the most recent 24-hour reporting period.

Meanwhile, in the Republic there have been a further 1,845 confirmed cases of Covid-19. As of this morning, there were 497 patients in hospitals with the disease, with 99 of those in intensive care units.
