A Co Tyrone uniform manufacturer has opened a new 60,000 sq ft facility in Dungannon following a £2 million investment.

Tailored Image has relocated its main operation from the Linen Green in Moygashel to the Granville Industrial Estate, close to the A4 dual carriageway.

The business, which is owned by the Birt family, has been making uniforms for banks, transport companies, hospitality businesses, retailers and the emergency services since 1998.

Its clients range from EasyJet, Translink and Bus Éireann, to Danske Bank, Centra and the National Ambulance Service of Ireland.

Tailored Image said the move marked a significant advancement for the company, bringing all its all warehouse and office staff under the same roof for the first time in many years.

It employs around 100 people.

Managing director Bernard Birt said it marked another important landmark for the business.

“This relocation formed an integral part of our ‘Imagine 28′ business plan which has been focused around expanding our capabilities and advanced the ‘managed services’ element of our operation which services contracts with a minimum of 2,000 wearers.”

He said the company’s base in Northern Ireland provides the ideal base for customers across the island of Ireland and GB, allowing unfettered access across both markets and further into Europe.

“We have always been a very proudly Northern Irish operation,” continued Mr Birt.

“But in recent years it has given us a much more competitive edge than others in the market, particularly as regards security of supply.

“We have ambitious growth plans over the next five years and this new premises sets us on the best footing to fulfil these.

“Our customers can expect bigger and better things from us in this new chapter.”
