A £200,000 road improvement scheme is due to begin in north Belfast.

Regional Development Minister Michelle McIlveen announced the start of the resurfacing scheme on the Antrim Road between Hazelwood Park and O'Neill Road near Glengormley.

The scheme will be carried out in two phases, which are expected to be completed by November 6.

The minister said: "This scheme will strengthen the road structure and deliver an improved carriageway surface."

Phase one - from October 26 to 30 - will have localised lane closures between 8am and 4pm with overnight closures between 8pm and 6am.

The second phase - from November 4 to 6 - will also be carried out overnight with closures between 8pm and 6am each night.
