Clifton Street Orange Hall was attacked in a paint bomb attack at around 10pm on Sunday night.

William Humphrey, DUP MLA for North Belfast, has condemned the incident.

“I condemn the attack on this lovely old building and would encourage anyone with any information concerning the attack to contact the police.”

“This hall has been attacked on numerous occasions and it is very clear that this is a reaction to Orange Order parades.”

Humphrey also told the Irish News that a petrol bomb had been thrown at the Orange hall, but missed and caused scorch damage to the wall of the nearby Indian Community Centre.

An eyewitness told the Irish News that he had been driving in the area when he saw a paint bomb and a petrol bomb being thrown over his car.

He then went to his girlfriend’s home nearby and said that they had both witnessed the attack on the Orange hall when he returned.

“A wee fella threw a bucket of paint over the Orange hall and then ran back into Henry Place.”

He also added that he saw several other people throwing golf balls and other projectiles during the incident.
