THE new US Ambassador to Ireland has been confirmed as Missouri lawyer Kevin F O'Malley.
The St Louis-based legal expert has been in practise for more than 35 years.
Mr O'Malley, who will fill the post vacated by Dan Rooney in December 2012, served as an assistant US attorney in St Louis in the early 1980s and was previously a special attorney in the Organised Crime and Racketeering section of the Department of Justice.
