The Fall actor Dornan made patron of charity

FOR weeks he has been to millions of viewers the most feared man in Northern Ireland but actor Jamie Dornan is using his new-found fame to offer a lifeline to some of the most vulnerable in society. The Co Down-born thespian has become the latest patron of TinyLife - the north's charity for premature and vulnerable babies. Dornan has long been associated with the charity through his father, Professor James Dornan, a founding member who still sits on the board of directors. More recently his character in crime drama The Fall, serial killer Paul Spector, was married to a neonatal nurse seen caring for desperately ill newborns. "It is a great honour to be made a patron for TinyLife, a charity that my family has had involvement with since its fruition as Northern Ireland Mother and Baby Appeal," Dornan said. "Their dedication to reducing premature birth, illness, disability and death in babies born in Northern Ireland is unparalleled." The charity, based in Carryduff, Co Down, funds medical research and provides a wide range of support services to families of premature and vulnerable babies. The actor and model joins a host of celebrities in his patronage of the charity.
