Liam Gallagher is on track to score his first-ever solo number one record.

The former Oasis frontman’s debut solo effort As You Were is currently outselling the rest of the top 20 combined with sales and streams of 79,000 at the midweek stage.

The album leads an all-new top five with rapper Giggs latest record Wamp 2 Dem at number two while The Darkness’ Pinewood Smile is on course to enter in third spot.

Norwegian group a-ha are on track to land at number four with acoustic album MTV Unplugged: Summer Solstice while Marilyn Manson’s 10th studio record Heaven Upside Down looks set to enter at five.

Other new releases set to break into the charts include comedian Jason Manford’s debut, A Different Stage, at nine and grime MC AJ Tracey’s Secure The Bag currently at 12.

In the singles charts, US rapper Post Malone is facing stiff competition to hold on to the number one spot after knocking Sam Smith off the summit last week.

A narrow lead separates his latest track Rockstar ft 21 Savage and Cuban-born singers Camila Cabello’s Havana, which climbs to second.

Sam Smith’s Too Good At Goodbyes drops to third while Dua Lipa’s New Rules and Avicii’s Lonely Together featuring Rita Ora remain at fourth and fifth respectively.
