Rochelle Humes has turned her new baby’s umbilical cord into a piece of art – and fans are horrified.

The Saturdays singer and her husband Marvin Humes welcomed their second daughter, Valentina Raine Humes, on Friday.

Rochelle has now shared a picture on Instagram showing what appears to be an umbilical cord, shaped into the world “Love”, in a pink frame.

Fans have been quick to weigh in online about the unusual artwork.

“Sickest thing I’ve ever seen!” one person said on Instagram, while another wrote: “No way, is it not gonna smell of rotting flesh? Surely there is nicer keep sakes!”

“The picture is awful looks like a old snake skin,” said another.

A container of placenta pills is also pictured, suggesting that Rochelle will follow stars such as Coleen Rooney, Kim Kardashian and January Jones in taking tablets made from her own placenta.

The pills are thought to aid recovery after childbirth as well as containing other health benefits for mothers.

The star captioned the image: “After being very curious I took the plunge, so excited to feel the benefits …”

Rochelle, 27, married 31-year-old singer Marvin five years ago and they had their first daughter, Alaia-Mai, in 2013.
