In a recent episode of Question Time, a woman was slated on Twitter for asking “who will serve our coffee in Pret?” in a discussion over EU workers and Brexit.
Remember?

Good god the woman on Question time ranting about 'who will we got our coffee from in Pret?'
A bit of a narrow minded question in my opinion— Reece Hughes (@TheMadMidlander) March 3, 2017
Well, it turns out she might well have had a point. The beloved high-street chain’s director of human resources has suggested that Pret A Manger would struggle to staff its cafes if it hired just British applicants.Speaking to the House of Lords Economic Affairs Committee, Andrea Wareham said: “I would say that one in 50 people that apply to our company to work is British.“If I had to fill all our vacancies in British-only applicants I would not be able to fill them… because of a lack of applications.”She revealed that staff come from 110 different nationalities, with 65% of those from outside the UK being EU citizens. We imagine that woman’s feeling pretty smug right now.
