There are some beauty products that become more than just products – they become part of the bathroom furniture. The Body Shop’s Body Butter is one of them.

First launched in 1992, the iconic tubs have been a fixture on bathroom shelves for more than three decades. Now, the range has been reformulated for 2026, promising the same rich, scoopable experience fans know and love, but with upgraded textures and longer-lasting hydration.

The revamped collection features 11 Body Butters, ranging from lighter creams to rich butters and an ultra-rich balm, catering for everything from normal-to-dry to ultra-dry skin.

The new formulas are designed to melt into the skin rather than sit on the surface, leaving it soft and nourished without a greasy residue or white cast. According to The Body Shop, nine out of 10 people in user trials said their skin felt intensely nourished after a single application, with the core range offering up to 72 hours of moisturising benefits.

And, of course, there are plenty of familiar favourites.

Coconut is designed for normal-to-dry skin, with a creamy, tropical scent reminiscent of a beach holiday, while Shea – the hero product for very dry skin – contains 14 per cent Community Fair Trade shea butter and promises 72 hours of nourishing moisture.

Almond Milk offers a softer, milky fragrance and is aimed at normal-to-dry and sensitive skin, while Strawberry brings a juicy, sweet scent with a lighter texture. British Rose is another lightweight option, with a fresh, dewy fragrance.

For something brighter, Satsuma has zesty citrus notes, while Mango combines its tropical scent with 10 per cent Community Fair Trade mango seed oil from Rajasthan.

Those with particularly dry skin can turn to Hemp, the specialist ultra-dry skin formula containing hemp seed oil and Community Fair Trade shea butter. It provides 48-hour moisturisation and is designed for skin prone to sensitivity.

Other options in the collection include Olive, Grapefruit and Moringa, giving the range plenty of choice when it comes to texture, fragrance and skin needs.

There’s also a strong ethical element to the revamped collection. The Body Shop says its shea butter comes from the Tungteiya Women’s Shea Butter Association in northern Ghana, while its Body Butter tubs are made using Community Fair Trade recycled plastic sourced through a partnership with Plastics For Change in India.

All the Body Butters are available in 50ml and 200ml sizes, with selected varieties also available in 400ml. Prices start at £7 for 50ml, £19 for 200ml and £38 for 400ml.

The new collection is available now.
