THE Antrim senior hurlers are ready to swing into action as they put the finishing touches to their annual Hurling Golf Classic on Friday April 5 at the DoubleTree Belfast Templepatrick in the Kingfisher Country Estate.

Over the last 10 years, this event has enjoyed great success, and they eagerly anticipate another exciting tournament this year.

The hurlers extend thanks to the main event sponsors: Bourke Sports, Casement Social Club, and Philip Christie.

Meanwhile, the Saffrons will host Tipperary in their final Division 1B game on Saturday at Corrigan Park (3pm) - but all eyes are already fixed on their first Leinster SHC joust with Kilkenny on April 21 in Nowlan Park.

It’s been a difficult campaign for Darren Gleeson’s depleted squad but the hope is Antrim will have more established names fit for the Championship.

“There is an opportunity for us in the Championship to grow, if we give ourselves enough space, progress and come the Leinster Championship we’ll be able to compete against three or four of these teams,” said ace attacker Conor McCann.

“We mightn’t be getting the results, and the ball might be falling a bit differently, but we’re working hard behind the scenes.”

The squad will fly to Portugal later this month for a week or warm-weather training ahead of the Leinster series.

A team of four players (four ball) can enter the Antrim Senior Hurling Golf Classic, which will cover food on arrival, the round of golf, entry to win great prizes, and a fork buffet afterwards in the clubhouse restaurant.

Antrim Senior Hurlers would be delighted to have you or your business on board as a sponsor of the event. Space is limited, call Stephen on 077 1045 9829 or email antrimseniorhurlers@gmail.com now to book.
