MALACHY O’Rourke and Tyrone face a tough task to get out of the relegation zone when they face Kerry in Omagh this weekend.

Tyrone have had a rough couple of weeks in the National Football League, losing to rivals Armagh and then to Mayo in Castlebar.

The latter match was a dull affair and a disappointing one for the Red Hands to lose given the optimism of the fans and those behind the team towards Malachy O’Rourke’s appointment.

The Errigal Ciarán duo of Darragh and Ruairí Canavan are yet to make their first appearance of the season under the new coach after recovering from concussions and fans will be eager to have them make an impact.

However, Peter Canavan’s two sons have not been included in the matchday squad against Kerry.

Kerry fans are awaiting the first start of the season for David Clifford, who made his first appearance of the year against Dublin last time out.

The Dubs ended up squeezing a one-point win in Killarney to put the Kingdom in a difficult position, having only managed one win so far this season against Derry.
