The Ulster Senior Club Football Championship semi-final between Scotstown and Newbridge has been called off at half-time due to deteriorating weather conditions.

The game got underway in Omagh at 3.40pm, with the wind coming in at 14mph and the rain sweeping across Healy Park.

Referee Joe McQuillan inspected the pitch at half-time, called both management teams out to do a formal inspection of the ground before shaking hands and calling the game off.

Scotstown were on top at the break, with Mattie Maguire scoring a major for ‘An Bhoth’ and Rory Beggan scoring twice from dead balls, including one two-pointer just before half-time.

Newbridge could only manage three scores, two from Sean Young and one from Eamon Young.

Both teams struggled to keep possession, and the quality of play was lacking from these two exceptional teams.

The details of the refixture for this semi-final have yet to be finalised and released.
