Now that all the county finals have been played, attention will quickly switch towards the Ulster Club Championship, which gets underway on Saturday.
Of the nine teams competing to get their hands on the Seamus McFerran Cup, only two have won it previously, namely Scotstown and Crossmaglen.
The competition begins with a bang as Tyrone’s recently crowned champions Edendork take their first steps into the provincial stage as they travel to Páirc Esler, Newry and meet Clonduff, who got their hands on the Frank O’Hare Cup for the first time in 26 years.
The quarter-finals take place the following weekend and first-time Antrim champions St Brigid’s, managed by Clonduff man Cathal Murray, lay in wait for the preliminary round winners.
Defending Ulster champions and four in a row Monaghan winners Scotstown meet Derry’s Magherafelt, who halted Newbridge’s three in a row bid on Sunday afternoon.
Erne Gaels, who completed their three in a row in Fermanagh on Sunday, lock horns with St Eunan’s, managed by former Fermanagh boss Kieran Donnelly, while 11-time Ulster winners Crossmaglen travel to Kingspan, Breffni Park to meet Gowna.
The Intermediate Championship mirrors the senior’s draw, with Down’s Rostrever and Rock of Tyrone meeting in the preliminary round at Burren on Saturday, with the winner taking on Naomh Éanna of Antrim in the next round.
Donaghmoyne and Desertmartin face off in the quarter-finals, with both sides winning their respective county titles on Sunday. Butlersbridge take on St Peter’s while Muff meet Fermanagh winners Kinawley.
In the Junior Championship, Derry’s Doire Trasna and Cavan’s Lacken were due to lock horns last Saturday, but the game was postponed due to the weather, and pushed back to this weekend.
Whoever comes out of the contest at Find Insurance Celtic Park, will go to the quarter-finals and face Armagh winners Ballyhegan.
Drumhowan needed extra time to see off Aghabog at the weekend and their focus will be on St Mary’s Rasharkin in the first round. Kilclief will take on Newtownbutler while Fintona are coming up against Urris.
