Armagh’s finest from Madden and Cullhanna will meet at the Athletic Grounds on Sunday to try and add their name to the roll of honour of senior football championship winners.

St Patrick’s have made the final for the third time in the club’s history, with the south Armagh side losing previous senior deciders in 2016 and 2013.

More recently, the black, red and amber were successful at the Intermediate Football Championship level, winning the county, provincial, and All-Ireland titles in 2023/24.

Madden stand between Cullyhanna and a senior title, as the Raparees go for their first Gerry Fagan Cup win in their history after a single final appearance in 1998, losing to Crossmaglen.

The Raparees and St Patrick’s have met in this year’s championship so far, with Cullyhanna winning by a single point in Group B, and the Pats won the group, winning all three games, with Madden finishing by winning the next two games against Mullaghbawn and Pearse Og, Armagh.

Madden advanced to the preliminary quarter-finals, where they played the Armagh Harps, before Maghery and the reigning county champions, Clann Eireann, fell to the red and black.

On the other side of the draw, Cullyhanna came into the fold in the last eight, beating St Peter’s, Lurgan, before beating South Armagh rivals Crossmaglen Rangers for a spot in the final.
