THE draw for this year’s Antrim club championships was given some novel pizzazz with a polished launch at the Crowne Plaza in Belfast.

In hurling, last year’s runners-up Loughgiel are in a three-team group with St Enda’s and Ballycastle as Creggan Kickham’s withdrew from this year’s senior championship at the 11th hour.

Champions Cushendall have testing group games with Dunloy, St John’s and Rossa.

Senior football champions Cargin have been drawn with Rossa, Tir na Óg and St John’s, while last year’s surprise finalists Dunloy face Aldergrove, Lamh Dhearg and St Enda’s.

Speaking at the Crowne Plaza, Antrim and Loughgiel hurler James McNaughton said: “It’s great to be invited to an event like this as it’s good to see the club championship draws progressing in this way and showcasing the teams in the county.”
