EasyJet is set to launch new winter flights to Egypt from Belfast International Airport.

The budget carrier is due to begin flying to Hurghada from October 31 2023.

The weekly flights have already gone on sale.

Hurghada is a coastal city on the Red Sea. Founded in the early 20th century as a small fishing village, it has grown into a major tourism resort, best known for its water-sports and nightlife.

EasyJet’s new Egyptian service follows a significant summer ramp up in activity by the airline in Northern Ireland.

The carrier recently introduced an eighth aircraft to its base at Belfast International.

It currently lists 35 destinations from the airport, with Hurghada now number 36.
