A PROPERTY development start-up has acquired a site on Belfast’s Dublin Road for a £14 million residential scheme.

John Smyth Estates secured planning permission last year to develop 85 serviced apartments on the site, which was previously occupied by the popular Kitch restaurant and the Emerald Chinese takeaway.

The Z Property Group, a holding company for Z Property Developments, has now bought the site.

The existing buildings are set to be demolished this month, with work on the new ten storey scheme due to commence in January 2023.

Z Property was set up last year by Scott Kennedy, a former project manager with McAleer and Rushe.

Based in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter, the company launched its inaugural residential scheme in Newbuildings, Co Derry last year.

“Z Property aim to build on the success of our existing projects and bring the quality standards we insist upon into this new and exciting city centre project,” said Mr Kennedy.

“This project will further enliven the Dublin Road and act as a catalyst for further developments in the area.”
