EasyJet continues to expand presence at Belfast City Airport

EASYJET is continuing to increase its operations at Belfast City Airport with four routes now planned this winter.

The budget carrier is to commence flights to Glasgow from October 31.

The airline ended its ten-year absence at Belfast City Airport last year with the launch of a new Gatwick service.

Flights to Liverpool commenced on July 1 this year, with EasyJet set to add Bristol to its City Airport schedule from next month.

Despite the expansion in east Belfast, EasyJet appear to have no plans to cut back on flights at Belfast International Airport.

All four destinations from Belfast City will also be serviced from Aldergrove this winter.

UK country manager, Ali Gayward, said it will offer customers more choice.

“Adding such choice has proved hugely popular with our customers and we are pleased to be offering further connectivity for those looking to explore and enjoy all the UK has to offer this winter,” she said.

Ellie McGimpsey, aviation manager at Belfast City Airport said the new EasyJet flights have been a success.

“We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with the addition of a service to Glasgow,” she added.

“With flights up to three days a week, we are confident this route will be popular for both inbound and outbound travellers.”
