BELFAST design and spirit company Drinksology Kirker Greer has announced a new partnership with celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo.

The TV personality is the new face of Ginato Italian Gin, which has recently launched in 22 countries.

Made with Italian ingredients including using Pinot Grigio grapes from Friuli and juniper from Tuscany, the gin joins the Belfast firm’s growing spirit portfolio that includes Jawbox Gin, Bowsaw whiskey, Ukiyo gin and Black Irish, an Irish whiskey made with stout.

Originally set up as a design company in 2007 by Steven Pattison and Richard Ryan, Drinksology Kirker Greer initially evolved into a wholesaler of a hard-to-find spirits before turning its hand to developing and distributing its own brands.

Chief executive Steven Pattison said: “The Ginato range encapsulates a true Italian spirit and without a doubt, Gino D’Acampo is the perfect fit for the brand.

“Having the calibre of Gino D’Acampo join us at Ginato, with his expert knowledge of Italian flavour and ingredients, it is a really exciting time for the development of the brand.

“We can’t wait to share his great enthusiasm for Ginato Gin and his love of everything Italian with consumers across the UK in the coming months and years ahead.’’

The arrangement will see the celebrity chef become a partner and Maestro del Gusto (Master of Flavour) for Ginato, pairing the gin with Italian food recipes and helping develop new Ginato Gin variants and releases over the coming years.

Mr D’Acampo said: “My homeland has always shaped not only the way I cook but also what I eat and drink. Italians have a passion for great quality produce, and this is everything that Ginato Gin embodies.

"It is important for me to work with brands that are authentic and complement my style of food.

"Ginato Gin is an interesting concept, especially with the addition of the Pinot Grigio grape. This innovation as well as the superb taste is what attracted me to working with the brand.”
