IRISH financial services firm FinTrU is seeking its influx of graduates as it continues to expand its workforce.

Darragh McCarthy's company, which operates from bases in Belfast and Derry, is contracted by a number of global investment banks from New York to Tokyo.

It recently hit 500 employees, setting new performance records.

FinTrU has now launched a new assured skills academy with the Department for the Economy, seeking graduates who wish to retrain in the legal aspect of financial services.

Training will be delivered remotely over a six-week period by Belfast Met, Ulster University and Queen’s University. Participants who complete the Academy will be guaranteed an interview for a position with FinTrU.

Applications are open until July 31 2020. No experience is required but applicants must hold a 2:2 degree or better in any discipline.

Commenting on the latest academy, Economy Minister Diane Dodds said:

“FinTrU is a successful and growing local employer and I am very pleased that my department is once again working in close partnership with the company to offer an assured skills academy.

“Assured skills academies have a strong track record of providing high quality training whilst also providing local businesses with the skills and talent they need to grow.

“This is the first time we have offered an academy in the legal aspects of financial services. I am particularly encouraged that, for the first time, three of our local further and higher education institutions will be working collaboratively to deliver a very high quality learning experience for those who are successful in their application.”

Roli Shaw, head of FinTrU Legal, said: “We are delighted to launch applications for FinTrU’s first legal academy. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who wish to train in the legal aspects of financial services, and embark on a career working with some of the largest global investment banks from right here in Northern Ireland, which has obvious appeal to graduates from law and language disciplines.

“We have successfully recruited for virtual financial services academies in recent months and are looking forward to welcoming applications from ambitious individuals who are keen to showcase their talents on the global stage in an exciting industry.”
