A conversation with Dean Strang & Jerry Buting from Netflix's Making a Murderer, September 27, The Mandela Hall, QUBSU, Belfast

WITH news just in that Netflix is to make another series of its shocking documentary Making A Murderer detailing unjustly convicted 'killers' Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey's continuing fight to clear their name, it's just been announced that two of the 'stars' of the first season are to visit Belfast.

Steven Avery's defence attorneys Dean Strang and Jerry Buting proved a hit with viewers thanks to their painstaking efforts to defend their client.

Now, the dynamic duo are on the road and taking part in moderated discussions regarding the systemic failures of the US criminal justice system and the broader implications of the Avery case.

Meanwhile, the new instalments of the Netflix TV show will catch us up with Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey as their investigative and legal teams continue to challenge their shonky convictions.

The episodes will offer exclusive access to Avery’s new lawyer Kathleen Zellner and Dassey’s legal team, led by Laura Nirider and Steve Drizin, as well as intimate access to the families and characters close to the case.

No doubt Dean and Jerry will be able to bring us up to speed on the latest developments in their former client's battle to clear his name, as well as offering fresh insight into their roles in one of America's most high profile murder cases.
