POP star Lewis Capaldi surprised passengers on a British Airways flight from London to Los Angeles with a rendition of his forthcoming new single Wish You The Best at 35,000ft yesterday - while serving them drinks.

The Scottish singer-songwriter took charge of the drinks service to the surprise of those on board, including four superfans who had been personally invited onto the flight. Lewis serenaded travellers with a chorus and verse of the as yet unreleased track, with the lyrics declaring “it seems like Glasgow gets further from LA”, as the flight travelled across the Atlantic.

Capaldi topped the singles chart with his recent comeback single Forget Me, followed by his fourth number one song with current release Pointless, both taken from the upcoming album Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly.

A new feature length music documentary, Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now, will be released on Netflix on April 5.
