THE Strand Arts Centre in Belfast has announced it will be hosting a special screening of Bafta-winning short An Irish Goodbye next month.

Presented in association with Floodlight Pictures, the Oscar-nominated film directed by Tom Berkley and Ross White is being shown at the Strand at 8pm on Wednesday March 22 as part of its Homecoming Tour and will be followed by a cast and crew Q&A session.

Set on a farm in rural Northern Ireland, the story follows estranged brothers Turlough (Seamus O’Hara) and Lorcan (James Martin) as they are forced to reunite following the untimely death of their mother (Michelle Fairley). When the pair discover an unfulfilled 'bucket list' belonging to their late mum, their pained reunion takes an altogether different course.

The filmmakers will be donating 25 per cent of proceeds from the screening to Mencap.
