1. When did you think about music as a career and what were your first steps into it?

As far back as I can remember, I had music playing in my head. I made up songs every day, sang them to my animals, then promptly forgot them the next day. So I started to write down poems in what has turned into a collection of hundreds of notebooks.

Before Nashville, I stopped singing for quite some time. I guess I ran into into one too many discouraging people. Then one day, my little brother, Timothy, sat with me in our Grandad's old car, and helped me write down what it was I really, truly wanted to do. That was the moment I started believing in myself again.

13. Who is your best friend and how do you know each other?

I met Brandon Robert Young at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, about 20 minutes before walking on stage to do my first solo show. My wonderful manager, Caitlin had been on the duet partner hunt, and Brandon was a trusted friend of hers. He walked out there with me, in front of all those people, and suddenly became my favourite person to sing with in the whole world. A few months later we started writing together, becoming fast friends. We fell in love and he asked me to marry him on December 5 2015, between our sets at the Ryman Auditorium's Grand Ole Opry show. Everywhere we go, we go together. I honestly couldn't do it all without him.

14. Is there a God?

Does the Pope wear a funny hat?
