DO YOU like the music of alt rock icons Weezer and pop punk revivalists Blink 182? Are you dying to hear their songs done live and getting increasingly frustrated by the few and far between nature of their Irish gigs?

If the answer to some of these questions is 'sort of', then Voodoo Belfast's forthcoming double-bill of cover band action is for you.

Beezer (the only possible choice of name for a Belfast-based tribute to Rivers Cuomo and co) and Dude Ranch will be rattling through all your Weezer and Blink 182 favourites in one hit-packed night on June 23.

Having witnessed an excellent Beezer performance at the same venue last year, I can confirm that this lot are as close to the real deal as you could ever hope to behold – especially here in the north, where the real Rivers as yet to grant his fans an audience – though they really need to re-assess their negative views on the 'red' album, as Heart Songs is clearly an indisputable classic.

As for Dude Ranch, they'll probably be much better than the current Tom-less incarnation of Blink.

For just £7 admission, you can certainly afford to find out.
