PERENNIAL odd couple Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb) returned to our screens this week for the ninth and apparently final series of POV-centric sitcom hit, Peep Show.
Despite having fallen out over their mutual affection for Mark's now ex-girlfriend Dobby (Isy Suttie), the 'El Dude Brothers' are soon reunited against a common enemy – Mark's uber-boring new flatmate, Jerry (Tim Key), who is blocking Jez's escape from sleeping in the bath of a sober-ish Super Hans (Matt King).
The Peep Show pair's last stand is off to a strong start with plenty of quotable moments ("the Elephant Man never forgets"), the welcome return of ex-JLB Credit and Consultio/Consultius supremo Alan Johnson (Paterson Joseph) as Mark and Jerry's boss at a dodgy bank, and strong hints that Mark and Jez are finally coming to terms with the inevitability of their shared future as heterosexual life-partners.
