This weekend's road bowls fixtures

MARTIN McGaughey qualified for the semi-final of the Novice Two Championships in Keady last Sunday.

McGaughey started as favourite against Pete Carr and Martin Mullan but it was the surprise package Carr who took the opening throw. Mullan and McGaughey found themselves a full bowl of odds behind and going to the cap bowl it was one-way traffic.

Carr held his full bowl plus odds over the two men. McGaughey and Mullan were to fight for second place until Carr was hit by an injury and McGaughey went on to win with Martin Mullan in second and Carr third.
