VIDEO - Seventh world title for Wynyard at Timbersports World Championships

INDIVIDUAL honours were at stake in the Timbersports World Championships - with Brayden Meyer leading the Aussies hopes.

The rookie made a great start in the opening stage - the underhand chop - axeing the opposition to set a new world record and claim maximum points.

However, come the single buck, a six-time world champion was beginning to get his teeth into the wood and the competition.

New Zealand legend Jason Wynyard collecting his only discipline success, but consistency put him into the lead - with Meyer unable to keep up.

Come the springboard and roles were reversed though - the Australian jumping into contention for the title thanks to a fine display of woodcraft.

Switzerland's Christophe Giessler would be the one with the hot hands in the hot saw - collecting a hat-full of points to move into second place on the leaderboard and put Wynyard under pressure.

However, the Kiwi wouldn't be ruffled - a third place finish enough to seal a seventh title.
