TYRONE'S U20 manager Paul Devlin and minor boss Gerard Donnelly have been reappointed.

Both men have been handed three-year terms, taking them up to the end of the 2026 season.

Devlin’s role with the U20s will have extended to nine years by the time he has completed his latest stint, while Donnelly has committed to a total of six seasons with the U17s.

Devlin has been in charge since 2018, and won two Ulster titles during his initial three-term with the team, in 2019 and 2020.

He was reappointed for a further three years in 2021, and led the Red Hands to an All-Ireland title a year later, beating Kildare in the final at Carrick-on-Shannon.

He has frequently stressed that his objective is not to win trophies, but to develop players for the Tyrone senior team.

Donnelly’s return as minor manager is something of a surprise, as he expressed his intention to step down in the immediate aftermath of the team’s exit from this year’s Ulster MFC, which marked the end of his three-year term.

But he has had a change of heart, and will renew his work with the county’s U17 squad in 2024.

He guided the county to Ulster titles in 2021 and 2022, reaching the All-Ireland final in his first season in charge, losing narrowly to Meath in the Croke Park decider.

This year, the Red Hands were knocked out of the Ulster MFC in a quarter-final penalty shoot-out by Monaghan, who went on to reach the All-Ireland final.

Both Devlin and Donnelly will confirm the make-up of their backroom teams in due course.

Their reappointment means all Tyrone county football teams will continue with the same management in 2024, following the reappointment of Senior bosses Feargal Logan and Brian Dooher.

The search continues for a senior hurling manager to replace Michael McShane, who stepped down after three years in charge.

Tyrone GAA have taken the unusual step of advertising the position.

Ballycastle native McShane guided the Red Hand hurlers to Nickey Rackard Cup triumph and the NHL Division 3A title last year, with the county subsequently competing in the Christy Ring Cup for the first time.
