A FREAK hand injury has forced Carl Frampton out of his comeback fight against Emmanuel Dominguez in Philadelphia this weekend.

It is understood a vase in his hotel room fell on his hand causing two broken bones.

The cancellation will come as a devastating blow to the 32-year-old former world champion who was hoping to fight for a world title by the end of the year.

Frampton hasn’t fought since losing a unanimous points decision to England’s Josh Warrington last December.

The north Belfast man's fight plans appeared to be going well after posting footage of himself on the treadmill earlier yesterday. He tweeted: 'Last hard session completed. 4x4 minute treadmill intervals. It’s fight week now, training done, time to focus on the fight.'
