JORDAN Brown continued his recent good form with a fine 6-4 win over world number 8 Kyren Wilson to reach the last 16 of the International Championship in Tianjin, China.

However, his Antrim club-mate Mark Allen endured more disappointment as he bowed out 6-3 against Thepchaiya Un-Nooh of Thailand

World number 44 Brown had enjoyed a 6-3 win over world number 26 David Gilbert in Monday’s opening round and was able to back that up today despite falling 3-1 behind at the mid-session interval.

Breaks of 106 and 93 had helped Wilson establish that lead but he was dominated from there as Brown compiled breaks of 54, 91, 77 and 78, with the only further success for the Mansfield man a break of 104 to level at 4-4.

Brown now faces four-times World champion John Higgins, 6-1 winner of Dylan Emery of Wales.

Allen, meanwhile, had led Un-Nooh 3-2 but breaks of 60 and 72 helped the Thai get his nose in front, and after also winning frame eight, he rounded off the match with a 141 total clearance.
