Petroleum companies are having a laugh

RECENTLY the cost of a barrel of crude oil has gone up and within hours the petroleum companies put up prices at the pumps. When oil prices plummeted we were told that the reason they were very reluctant to pass on a reasonable proportion of savings to the public was that they had bought in bulk at earlier higher prices.

So what has happened to the earlier bulk buying at lower prices? Either the petroleum companies think the public is a bunch of morons or they are simply saying to us: "We really don't care what you think."
