Illusion of democracy

MANY people in the north of Ireland are about to discover the true nature of the state during next week's G8 summit. As Marx pointed out 'in the final analysis the state can be reduced to armed bodies of men'. Essentially any illusion of democracy will be swept away as a small army temporarily assumes power. There will be no word of dissent from Stormont. Those brave enough to protest peacefully will, at the very least, have their movements curtailed. Welcome to the future of ruthless corporate power.
