Balmoral Show organisers must review traffic flow

The Balmoral Show, Northern Ireland's largest agricultural event, always attracts large crowds and that is especially so this year with warm and sunny weather ensuring that families have a wonderful day out enjoying the many attractions.

There is no doubt that organising such a major event is a considerable logistical exercise and enormous credit must go to those who ensure visitors have a memorable time and, importantly, come back year after year.

However, with thousands of people flocking to the venue, traffic management is a particular issue and it is a great pity that some visitors experienced lengthy delays arriving and leaving the showgrounds, with serious problems reported on Thursday evening.

It is important those running the show take note and next year we see no repeat of these traffic difficulties.
