Gardai investigating fatal stabbing in Dublin's south inner city

A MAN has been stabbed to death in Dublin's south inner city, gardai has said.

The victim, aged in his 60s, was discovered at Robinson's Court, off Cork Street, at around 2.30pm on Sunday.

He was taken by ambulance to St James Hospital but was pronounced dead there a short time later.

Gardai at Kevin Street are investigating the incident.

The scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and the State pathologist has been asked to attend.

Forensic experts from the Garda Technical Bureau are also expected to carry out an examination of the scene.

A Garda spokesman said: "Investigations are continuing."

Detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
