POLICE investigating burglaries of ATMs across the north have arrested a 42-year-old man in England.

The man was arrested in the Hull area on Wednesday by detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch who are investigating nine ATM burglaries and attempted burglaries in February and March of this year in areas including Portadown, Dungannon, Ballymena and Coleraine.

He was detained on suspicion of seven counts of burglary, two counts of attempted burglary and 26 counts of criminal damage, and was taken back to Northern Ireland for questioning.

The man remained in police custody on Wednesday night.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Our investigation into these incidents continue, and I am appealing to anyone who could assist with our enquiries, to call us on 101.
