Man (47) extradited to Lithuania to face drug and human trafficking charges after west Belfast arrest

A 47-year-old man living in Northern Ireland has been extradited to Lithuania to stand trial for human trafficking and drug distribution charges.

The man was arrested in west Belfast in August 2020 by officers from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch, on foot of an extradition warrant issued by Lithuanian authorities.

He remained in custody and was extradited on Sunday to Lithuania, where he is also facing a money laundering charge.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "We are grateful for the assistance of colleagues from the Lithuanian Police and from the National Crime Agency for their cooperation in this case."
