Petrol bomb attack on Co Down property investigated by police

Police are appealing for information following a report a petrol bomb was thrown towards a house in Co Down.

The device, which smashed but did not explode, was thrown into the garden of a home in the Main Street area Waringstown shortly before 4:55am on Friday. A female was inside the house at the time.

"The object smashed but is not believed to have caused any damage. It was reported that a woman was inside the property during the incident, but there were no reports of any injuries," the PSNI said.

“Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with any information that may be able to assist with the investigation."
